The construction of the Tullgarnsbron is now approaching. The bridge is an important link for pedestrian and car traffic across Fyrisån in Uppsala. Our proposal for the movable bridge was selected in a parallel assignment back in 2010. The design idea is to create a modern urban bridge that marks the delineation city-park and visualizes the opening function in a dynamic way in both its open and closed position.

The Aga tram depot has been nominated to the Swedish Transport Administrations’ Architecture Award 2019. The winner will be revealed during the Architecture Gala on March 10th.

Together with White Architects and Tyréns – traffic, we are working with a structure plan for Skärholmen’s central area, which is one of the eight developing areas in the Fokus Skärholmen project. Within the project, we are exploring possibilities for an urban development with an interconnecting street network and mixed programming – that is also part of the future regional center Skärholmen-Kungens Kurva. In our work, is the integration of the future tramline “Spårväg Syd” into the urban structure an important issue.

Folke Bernadotte’s bridge has been awarded Stockholm’s Chamber of Commerce’s Urban Environment Award in 2019. The prize rewards projects that in the best way contribute to the beautification or improvement of Stockholm’s urban environment.

Following our team’s win in the competition “Linköping-The City Center is growing across the river” in 2013, that dealt with the urban development and a new travel center in central Linköping, we have been further commissioned to develop an urban design strategy for the development of Linköping’s inner city. Our work aims to support the local municipality in their process of developing masterplans for Steninge and Stångebro. The planned high-speed railway “Ostlänken“ will pass through our study area and get a new station in Linköping, generating conditions for a growing inner city. The work is done in collaboration with the former competition team members, Sweco (formerly Metro), Sydväst landscape architecture, A&C – consultants and SpaceScape.

The office turns 20 this year and we celebrated the anniversary with a jubilee party in the upcoming ticket hall at Hagastaden Metro Station. We also took the opportunity to celebrate the release of the book Vardagens Rörelser (Everyday Movements) which is about our work. The editor, Dan Hallemar, held a speech about the book, followed by live jazz by The Highway Stompers, food, ping pong and dancing to DJ DIANE until late into the night. Thanks to everyone who defied the dark and the rainy November nights to come and celebrated with us!

Two of our projects, Kallhäll station and the new Metro stations along The Yellow Line, are part of the exhibition Architecture of Necessity, taking place at Virserums Art Center. The Architecture of Necessity encourages dialogues about the basic values of architecture. To fulfill the criterias of being an Architecture of Necessity, the architecture should be responsible, diligent, sustainable, just and open. We are honored to have our projects in the exhibition that runs until 1:st of December 2019.

Our bridge over Husarviken has been awarded with an honorary mention during this years Steel Building Day. The bridge was one of the four finalists for the Steel Construction Prize 2019 which was awarded on November 7 in Gothenburg.
